Waking Up Uglier Than I Slept , What’s Causing This?

Second post here. One thing I’ve noticed lately is that I look noticeably worse in the morning, bloated, uneven, and completely unstyleable hair. It’s not just in my head either, I’ve tried taking pictures and the difference between AM and PM is huge. Obviously I never look good but at least I look normal at work but in the morning no one would even employ me looking like this.

Here’s what might be causing it (but I’m not sure):

– My face looks swollen in the morning, especially around the eyes and cheeks. I’ve read it could be water retention or sleep-related.
– My hair looks greasy/clumpy or flat almost every morning, even when I washed it the night before. If I don’t rewash it, I look like I didn’t even try.
– I recently switched to sulfate-free shampoo + conditioner. Before that, I used cheap shampoo from Home Bargains for years and never used conditioner at all.
– I’m trying to wash less often to avoid overstripping my hair, but it’s hard when it looks bad almost every day.

I got some advice from my last post that due to my head shape I should go for longer hair over shorter to hide it but if this is what short hair looks like idk how I would ever grow it out, I feel like I just need like 1 consistent hair style and if i use gel everyday for like a month to get it in that position naturally compared to looking homeless and different in every picture I take.

Here’s my current skincare and supplement stack for context:

Skincare
– Morning: No.7 Vitamin C toner, The Ordinary Niacinamide + Zinc, No.7 Future Renew Moisturiser
– Evening: Micellar Water, Glycolic Acid, 15% Niacinamide, The Ordinary Retinol, Cerave Night Moisturiser

Supplements
– Morning: 30g whey, goji berries, pumpkin seeds, omega 3-6-9
– Evening: Omega 3-6-9, zinc, magnesium, whey again
– Also using: Collagen, biotin, vitamin D3, ashwagandha, creatine

I’ve attached a few pics taken straight after waking up, even on PC which I think uses some filter to make you look better I'm still screwed, can't even hide the hair on calls with headphones

---

Questions
1. Is this kind of bloat normal? Anything I can do to reduce it long-term?
2. How are people styling hair without washing it daily? Do I just need to accept daily washes?
3. Is there a good routine to train the scalp/hair to stop overproducing oil?
4. Should I be looking at diet or sleep changes for the face issue? What worked for you?

If anyone has fixed this kind of thing or knows where to start, I’d really appreciate it. I'm tracking all changes now and will keep posting logs here as things (hopefully) improve.

1. idk
2. I had a similar hair problem than you
Now they're longer so it's much easier.
I use to wet them and use a comb in the morning which was efficient.
3. To make it produce less oil, avoid shampoing often, don't use hot water or your hair (lukewarm is good). Might be diet too
4. I think your main problem is bone structure, if you sleep enough and with good quality focus on diet. Your sleep might be helped by your diet actually.

I advise you to grow out your hair even more, you might consider minox for denser brows and hair
it's good to finally see some genuine trying to improve here

Unfortunately not, I only post my face despite looking like this because I feel like I have nothing left to lose
Why arent u washing ur hair, or getting lean, taking finasteride, the most surface level stuff? also bimax and rhino necessary

I see thanks, obviously family telling me to get rid of it immediately and I keep defending it saying I got advised to grow it out + If I always looked bad with short hair what damage can it really do?

Showering daily with lukewarm water and no products is the best method then?

I have too many jobs so my work shifts are inconsistent. I finish work 11;30pm, get back midnight then scroll and sleep like 2am then have an alarm for 6am ( used to be 5am but gave up on that ) . Diet wise I eat like 2 eggs in the morning and then dinner is from the store at work so a Monster Energy drink and some processed trash yet despite eating basically nothing for years I somehow stay at like 75-80kg but don't think I am fat like some comments say I need to lose weight but body wise everywhere I tough there is just bone, would post physique pics but don't have a mirror

Maybe you have sleep apnea or you are allergic to bed bugs or something like that

that's the thing, I am trying to get leaner, I eat basically nothing so am using the supplements to get the nutrients if I can't get the calories, I run 5km daily for like a month and aiming for 10km daily but need to wake earlier since it takes like an hour.

I had to look up the other things you mentioned, tbh, finasteride sounds decent, I just need some consultation to get it legally in UK ig and the price is not too bad so will check it out thanks.

THe bimaxing is stuff like mewing which I need to look more into and do daily so I can visualise underbite and the variations, the majority of comments have mentioned the nose so I guess it must be a huge problem, I will try to get in shape and fix the hair first probably then get some decent money and once I'm putting in the effort/ basics like you suggested and done everything I can semi-naturally if the nose is still a huge issue I will pay for some type of rhino

I will take pity on u and explain. YOU MUST get bimax and rhino. Nothing else will work. Anyone experienced on the site will tell u the same, there is no other way, the less time u waste and the sooner you get these surgeries the better. Brutal reality.

If it ends up looking bad you can cut them, but you need to see (and short hair really won't suit you bc long forehead)

I don't but if you do it in the morning it can help have good looking hair. You can also just wet them in the sink

4hrs of sleep is not enough
try to get at least 6 and much better if you can manage to do 8
By fixing your diet I didn't mean quantity but quality. Avoid processed shit, repalce monster by coffee if possible (ideally you wouldn't need any but not very realistic for now)
At dinner, aim for digest food so you can sleep more easily.
Obv don't scroll at night like that, it really fuck your sleep because of less time but also sleep quality since you're on screen just before (and too stimulating)

these are basic shit you need to get down before planning any surgeries

Waking up looking worse is very normal, I resort to drink water as using a massage gun to my face When I wake up.

How well off are you?

You need 8 hours at the very least. and fix your diet. You live in Uk which means start eating good salmon and fish. Excellent chaep source of protien.

Easy max first is Eyebrows. Get the dyed if there is bad coloring or you have to grow it. I recommend moneymaxxing first though

Got it, thanks, yeah I kinda just buy the meal deal at work since I do night shifts and tell myself it will help me get through the shift if I take an energy drink but can try water instead from now on.

Sleeping more is also good, I'm hoping to reduce my shifts because at this rate in 2 years time or something I'll just end up even less healthy, probably have given up any good habits like running etc and just live to hate life at work. I am probably skipping too many steps and need a real goal/ passion that makes me feel there is hope in life so I can start building small habits towards like that, will probably quit the morning job so I can wake up anytime and get more sleep and will try not to use phone since I have nothing on there to even do .

How old are you, and whats your financial situation. Start hitting push up and pull ups and squats if you cant afford gym.

How tall are you

Salmon is expensive bro, UK is a good place to be for sure but I can't afford an expensive diet atm, moneymaxing is a key though as I feel it will give me a goal + more motivation to improve in other aspects of my life such as looks and fitness/health rather than being bottom of the barrel in all aspects of life, looks, job, confidence, grades etc.

I am trying to start an agency online but haven't really done anything, just made something so it felt more real rather than just an idea

6 feet is lifeguel. Dodged a massive obstacle ngl. Lifts and fraud is basically 6'2 so you chillin. Keep moneymacxing because being in debt is slavery.

NEVER BE IN DEBT. Whatever you have to do, pay off the credit card end of month.

Dont join the gym, do calisthenics and shit. Use an old bag and stuff objects in it to use a weights for weighted calisthenics.

You cant afford a gym. You dont need to travel a lot. Just keep grinding that job. Eat Clean Sleep 8 hours, Do the excercise, Lose the Wight and Go to the job.
