Seemed that way based on all the boomers I met

That's how it should be thought.dating market has become extremely looks-centric
And it would be nothing more than a betabuxx. If women could have provided for themselves back then, skewed gender ratio would have done nothing for those guys. You could have been an autistic short 0/10 bald fat guy and met women on the way to the milk store who would openly ask you whether you're up for marriage or dating.

Errrr…..no. Most of those boomers were HTNs/Chadlites in their prime. They kept in shape due to working at the car factory day in and day out.You could have been an autistic short 0/10 bald fat guy and met women on the way to the milk store who would openly ask you whether you're up for marriage or dating.
I would add that it all went to shit in the 60s and 70s with first, the “Great Society” reform laws by LBJ aka the welfare state we currently have, the contraceptive pill, and then in 1973, the final nail in the coffin: no fault divorce laws (e.g. a foid would get all the prizes and rewards and as a men you would be left with shit ).There was actually a gender imbalance after the wars in favor of women. That means there were more young women alive than men in all western countries (though the country worst hit by this was the Soviet Union with ~70 young men for every 100 women).

The Second World War had a sever impact on gender ratios across European countries, particularly in the Soviet Union.www.statista.com

You were also able to get a job just by walking into a company and asking when you can start your first shift, with no real qualifications, CV or interview required, and no 300 competitors trying to get that same position.
You were able to pay off a car in full in about 4 months and a decent big suburban house within 2 years.
Why buying a house today is so much harder than in 1950
A postwar boom, legal discrimination, and new mortgage loans made suburban housing accessible, and set the stage for today’s challenging marketarchive.curbed.com
The world these boomers lived is so far removed from the world we currently live in (and which also has 8.5 billion people now instead of 2.5 billion) they just cannot connect with the life experience young adults today are forced to live in (shitty wages, a small cubicle takes 30 years to pay off, dating market has become extremely looks-centric now that women have their own cash and entered the workforce etc).
The modern world is a hellscape prison for those who aren't going to inherit money, unless they are some kind of a high IQ tech savant who can create a startup and sell it. It's also extremely rough to date as an average looking man in the 2020s.
I strongly agree with this, these women ultimately put up with very ugly older men out of financial necessity. Not because there was a shortage of men (because there was).If women could have provided for themselves back then, skewed gender ratio would have done nothing for those guys.
