From my limited experience with surgeons, they have actually had quite the opposite way of talking: a concise, straight-to-the-point way of speaking. I haven't seen any indications that his overly wordy posts indicate real expertise about implants.

All implant materials leave an imprint - period. Solid or Porous Polyethylene probably makes no difference. Solid polyethylene implants have almost no track record, although I know of some rare cases where they were used in South America.
