It’s pretty obvious.
If i make this too long it will just get dnrd so i’ll try to sum it up in a few sentences:
Think about us like video game characters.
In this case we’ll use mario, and let’s say that in this case he’s aware and concious.
Every time you load him into a game, he’s aware that he’s in a game.
He’s aware that he is in a simulated experience.
The only thing he’s not aware of, is how.
No matter how hard he thinks, and no matter for how long, he will never know exactly how he ended up in the game.
He simply cannot comprehend the idea that he was essentially created by omniscient gods who view him as a play thing.
To mario, all he knows is his world, and we are able to see all aspects of it simultaneously.
This concept is often referred to as dimensions.
Even with something like an AI, it would never be able to truly comprehend it’s fate.
That it is being watched by “humans” who control it’s every action and thought.
To the AI, it only exists when you prompt it.
Perhaps we only exist when we are prompted.
To the AI, it’s existence is relatively continuous, but in reality, you as chatgpt a prompt, and then you don’t use it again for a week, yet it still doesn’t realize any time has passed.
How many times has how simulation been shut down without us knowing.
How often do the people who control us laugh at us, because even though we correctly call out the fact that we’re in a simulation, we never will truly be able to grasp the magnitude of it.
