Earlier this year we were in the Fat Grafting arc and it really seemed like Dr. Hui was going to become the new King of the Surgeons, but then the Timothy Haireth arc began and suddenly the world abandoned fat grafting. While the Timothy Haireth arc was exciting it did come to a somewhat unsatisfying conclusion as Burak used his Domain Expansion: Room of the Infinite Revisions to reset Timothy's swelling and send the world of implants into a sort of ice age as we wait 3 years for next big Giant-focused arc, most likely about Timothy's return as an 8 PSL superhuman.
This sudden power vacuum has now culiminated with filler taking its place and it seems like this will be very exciting, the brazillian injectors who use like 36ml on one person (yes this is real) have perhaps the highest blackpill power levels we've seen so far. And of course there remains the lurking threat of Eppley and his potential ability to create a giant implant that covers your entire skull and face at once which could lead to the next great filler vs implant war
Overall I would say I'm really happy with where the series is going and I think the writers are doing a great job
