Imagine a glass wall between you and reality where you feel like a spectator in your own head. You are watching your consciousness rather than being it. Imagine being on an autopilot mode.
This will be experienced by 50% of the people atleast once in a lifetime when sleep deprived and whatnot. Persistence of which is a disorder.

How to get out: all I know so far is this. There is no single curable drug. Get busy with life, get distracted and move on while accepting this and one day it’ll just go away and the awareness will be back.
