Imagine a glass wall between you and reality where you feel like a spectator in your own head. You are watching your consciousness rather than being it. Imagine being on an autopilot mode.

This will be experienced by 50% of the people atleast once in a lifetime when sleep deprived and whatnot. Persistence of which is a disorder.

Triggering factor:- just remembering and anxiety over the fact that you have the mental glass. (Brutal :feelswah:)

How to get out: all I know so far is this. There is no single curable drug. Get busy with life, get distracted and move on while accepting this and one day it’ll just go away and the awareness will be back.

Like the person who is reading your comment and typing this rn isn’t me. I mean yes it’s my hands and my body but not my awareness.

It’s like I’m running on autopilot mode. There is no loss of control, I can still race my car and all the reflex activities are intact but I just feel like the controller is with somebody else.

It’s a harmless condition tho

I’ve never had this. Sounds useful though, you could wageslave on autopilot and just zone out.

Your point holds an intriguing scenario in my head that I already thought about.

I could basically use this to laser focus on my studies and ascend but keep in mind there is no increase in IQ, more like lack of resistance to do things.

Nor is there any urge to eat goyslop or to play video games and any high dopamine activity. As long as the stage isn’t exaggerated I might just use it. But human emotions of satisfaction and what not are still necessary.

Ever since I started smoking weed (-1.5 years ago approximately), I am constantly getting derealization symptoms even when I am not on it, I get it at least twice per day

Now, for me it’s not all bad and i am not losing my mind like a lot of people who get these symptoms do, it’s even a little enjoyable for me at times

Yeah it’s best to cut off weed for you but tell one thing, how do you take an advantage of this situation? Little enjoyable at times how? So that I can cope too

Yeah the problem is that I cut it off more than a month ago and still have these. I will get professional help asap

I don’t really take advantage of it, and it makes me feel better that I’m almost certain that i know what the cause of it (the weed) and I’m not just mentally ill

I just know that it’s something that is probably temporary, and I look at it as a “trip” like when im on weed

It happens for 2-3 minutes and then im back to normal so i really don’t mind it

I've had it since a child and it doesn't go away, it's a self defense mechanism of the body, usually an unpleasant event or mental conditions cause this, so there isn't any cure for derealization itself but you can cure the roots which are causing it

Ig this is why you are normal cause you aren’t anxious of the symptom, you just accept the way it is and move on with life.

I used to read about this back then in 2023 if i remember correctly it usually happens from drug abuse mainly psychotics and/or marijuana/lsd although less common
do you do any drugs ? naturally for this to happen is quite uncommon imo

I had since the age of 10, the first time I could remember it.

Recent modafinil use for sleep deprived study sessions definitely exacerbated the condition, until then I almost never had it.
