when you have a weak mandible the nose its usually NOT upturned for that exact reason. this is also why i think there is so much difference in beauty standards between men and women today: having recessed jaws as a women is still considered feminine and accepted, whilel men look like absolute cucks

The mandible has to grow in properly for the maxilla to upturn the nose. Low gonial angle, low/flat mandibular plane angle, flat maxillary plane, in that order. Facial development should be looked at from the bottom up. And small =/= weak or malformed. Females usually have smaller mandibles but if it’s recessed or “weak”, the entire face will grow downwards at steep angles, and downturn the nose.
