Within almost every culture that I know of, a lighter skin tone is seen as more desirable than a darker one. This is prevalent in the East-Asian, South-Asian, South-East-Asian and African-American cultures for example. People say that that's only because of 'colonialism'. Well, if that's the case, you would expect to see many cultures that historically favoured or were neutral towards darker skin before colonialism. Is this the case?
