What age should you start finasteride?

I can't tell if my temples are thinning or not, cos I'm pretty sure I've noticed the hair always being a bit thinner there, but it's just recently I've started thinking about future hair loss.

I'm 19 and turning 20 in two months, but I think I still have developing to do. My beard has been becoming more of a beard with growth in areas not before, and my family can all grow beards, so I think I have the genes for it, just not grown in yet. I also don't want to fuck any potential penis girth gains (if there are any more).

But yeah should I start fin/dut as a cautionary/preventative measure or wait a year or so (unless I notice for sure receding before then)?

You are developed enough to take it as a precaution, provided you've already seen some possible thinning and you could have a family history. Waiting until your temples thin out is dumb.

Yes but as I'm really not sure if there is thinning and I don't want to prevent beard development, it might be worth waiting a little and regularly checking temples
