What are benefits of Horseshoe Le Fort I osteotomy?

I know the maxilla won't rotate up at all. Only small U shape piece, but what good is it then for? Vertically deficient upper jaw, palate? Stability? I am too low IQ for this.

I'm pretty sure it's just teeth? Idk. It has some soft tissue effect but I think everyone should have lefort 2 or above as IV moves the whole maxilla!
