They are fine. They just cap at very stupid weights like 200 lb (95kg) because that's what the engineers were capable or building into a cable machine.
They are ok for beginners, they have zero use for advanced lifters looking to isolate certain muscles and bulk them up.
I also hate that the TG ab cruncher caps at 200. Anyone who uses it 2-3x weekly will progress to that level within 3-6 months.
After that you have no path of improvement except doing hundreds of reps. There is no way to challenge your abs further by putting on 220, 240, 260, 300 pounds.
They really are machines for beginners. Sadly a lot of gyms are filled with TG. Once you reach the cap they lose effectiveness and you pay for their maintenance in your gym fee while getting nothing in return.
Once you max them out I would just stick to a cheaper gym that has a huge amount of free weights and plates.
