surgeryi have a weak chin, i never saw someone irl or even in the internet with that chin, i searched a lot about it and still dont know, so what i think is that is the mandibular plane angle
im getting a palate expander this year, can it possibly fix atleast a little bit?wait till puberty is over and if it's still bad then get surgery
Your chin is actually not weak (you can tell if you compare it with your lips), I would say the angle of the photo and the head tilt definitely make it look worse that it is. As you mentioned it's possible that your mandibular plane angle is on the high end of the range but that is something that you would see naturally decreasing as you get older and become more dimorphic, if even after you become an adult you still think that you have a weak jaw then you can do a cephalometric analysis. I notice that you have good maxillary and mandibular forward growth so if I was you wouldn't worry much about it.i have a weak chin, i never saw someone irl or even in the internet with that chin, i searched a lot about it and still dont know, so what i think is that is the mandibular plane angle
no, it will just project your maxilla more which is good, but a Herbst appliance is the best fix for your mandibular plane angleim getting a palate expander this year, can it possibly fix atleast a little bit?
thanks man, but a quick detail, my lips are open in this picture, that makes my chin a little stronger, but the difference is not much, so that is another problem i have to know about, my chin gets, lets say, normal when i open my lips, when i close it, it gets worse, the picture was taken some months ago, i'm gonna take a new one tomorrowYour chin is actually not weak (you can tell if you compare it with your lips), I would say the angle of the photo and the head tilt definitely make it look worse that it is. No. Palate expander is not going to change your side profile. Also I have noticed in this forum an obsession with palate expanders and many think that they need one even when they don't. What makes you think that you need one did you go to an orthodontist and they told you that you need one or you self diagnosed, because if your bite is good and you expand your upper teeth your lower teeth are going to stay behind and the result isn't going to be aesthetically pleasing.im getting a palate expander this year, can it possibly fix atleast a little bit?
Sure take a new one a tag me to see if I can help you. Also it would help if you could take a picture of you smile to see if you have class II, class III, deep bite, the relation between your teeth and your gums and your buccal corridorsthanks man, but a quick detail, my lips are open in this picture, that makes my chin a little stronger, but the difference is not much, so that is another problem i have to know about, my chin gets, lets say, normal when i open my lips, when i close it, it gets worse, the picture was taken some months ago, i'm gonna take a new one tomorrow
is it just for overbite? i dont think i have oneno, it will just project your maxilla more which is good, but a Herbst appliance is the best fix for your mandibular plane angle
when i took my braces off, she said i would need something in my palate, but im not sure if she was talking about palate expander, but i took some pictures, and its really narrow, yeah ik that is not gonna give me forward growth, i want mostly to fix my chin and my lower and upper third, i never needed braces but when kid i fell in the floor with my face so i had to, probably not a bite problemNo. Palate expander is not going to change your side profile. Also someone said that palate explanders are going to "project your maxilla more" which is false as they apply mostly lateral and not forward forces, for forward force you would need something like the Carriere Motion Appliance or in general something that utilizes elastics (I don't think you belong to that category though, since I cant really see signs of class II or class III malocclusion)
its primary purpose is to correct overbite and by doing that it will move your lower jaw forward, if your bite is fine then I would not recommend it because it could fuck up your teeth.is it just for overbite? i dont think i have one
My guess would be that she was taking about putting a permanent retainer (it is a thin metal wire or fiber custom-fitted and glued to the back of the teeth, typically the front four to six, to prevent shifting after orthodontic treatment). Also have to view your teeth as part of the whole face, so your palate has to be narrow relative to the rest of the face. What I am trying to say is that most of the people that say that they need a palate explander don't really need one, so if you want to know if you can be a candidate for an explander or not you should visit an orthodontist. As I said earlier you can also just upload a picture of your smile and tag me to give you my personal view. You are too young to worry about having a weak jaw (you definitely don't have a weak chin). There are a lot of retards in this forum and it's hard to tell sometimes who actually speaks facts and who doesn't even know what he is taking about, but trust me the male face reaches its final sexually dimorphic structure between ages 21 and 25 so you shouldn't worry about your mandibular plane angle either.when i took my braces off, she said i would need something in my palate, but im not sure if she was talking about palate expander, but i took some pictures, and its really narrow, yeah ik that is not gonna give me forward growth, i want mostly to fix my chin and my lower and upper third, i never needed braces but when kid i fell in the floor with my face so i had to, probably not a bite problem
