not my upper lip but the area from my upper lip to the nose protrudes and creates nasolabial folds. And I am wearing braces right now which amp up the effect. what exactly causes this? maybe narrow maxilla thus lack of bone volume?
i will be getting bimax soon and my surgeon wants to move the maxilla forward and CCW rotated. wouldnt that make that area protrude even more? should i get MSE before the op?
someone knowledgeable help pls

nasolabial folds are usually caused by a combination of maxillary forward growth, and bad fat storage in cheeks

You mean lack of maxillary forward growth or forward growth?

Recessed maxilla. especially the paranasal area. The palate maxilla protrudes, however if the paranasal area is recessed it will cause noticable nasolabial folds

I just meant maxillary projection.
forward growth maily depends on maxillary projection

Does LF1 treat the paranasal area? My maxilla is recessed but my philtrum is convex due to camouflage orthodontics.

Yes, probably like 50-75% of the area is moved forward. Depending on the cut

Lifefuel. My paranasal area looks like my avi. Completely hollow with deep folds.

Well maybe I'm mistaken, It depends on which cut is used

I meant does lack of forward growth or too much forward growth cause it?
just think about it. if one is more forward or recessed than the surrounding it will cause a crease

You're right, just noticed that Jordan Barrett has nasolabial folds at rest. I guess medium forward growth like Chico, Delon, Gandy, etc is ideal as opposed to dog-tier.

if you still want the gaunt look i think having a wide palate and chin is good enough
