If you move to some rural hick shithole theres a possibility boomers will fuck with you for being an ‘islamic terrorist’, but realistically in a big city espec. California that is super unlikely.

There is legitimate discrimination against perceived Muslims here, not so must being middle eastern, but the two tend to be very similar.

If you are somehow able to not be perceived as muslim then my 2¢ is you will probably be fine, almost all “anti-middle eastern” hate is directed towards muslims.

To be honest i dont have a face that you would label as middle easterner, i would be closer to the med than i am to the middle easterner. And im not a muslim neither (even though im coming from a muslim majority one) so i really love how you people respect irreligious people there. The biggest takeaway I can give to you is that the people who would discriminate against you for your appearance would 99% be doing it based off your perceived religion and not your ethnicity. If you dress NT, +western haircut and (this is a big one) facial hair- most people with “Muslim failo” have large beards- I suspect you would face minimal outright discrimination.

The other biggest factors are going to be accent and name. If you don’t have some sentimental attachment to your name I would mess around with swapping a few letters to find a Western equivalent. Accent is difficult to change AFAIK but yeah it matters a lot for how you will be treated.

Does it actually happen that way though? Dont get me wrong i am actually trying to learn a few things here. But as far as i know the American identity is pretty vague when you take out it's official definition that ultimately relies on the citizenship. That being said, what is exactly holding me down from not melting in the pot. Especially if i dont have striking racial features unlike Africans, East Asians or Indians?
