What do you guys do when you feel depressed

Do you acknowledge your thoughts and go deeper into them or do you try to push them away and ignore them?

Is it better to validate these feelings or invalidate them? Because when I do validate them by acknowledging them, I can’t stop myself from dwelling on them and suddenly Im staying in bed all day and crying in between sleep. But when I try to avoid validating them by drowning myself in distractions, they just fester and become stronger and more bitter and my heart slowly Rots in the background of my life until things boil over.

The number one best way for me to deal with sadness is to hard spar someone.

Nothing brings me as much relief, joy and protection from despair as someone trying to knock me out, and me giving it all I got to fight back and do the same to them.

I’ve always been interested in the martial arts and fighting. As a kid I wanted to get into that because it looked so cathartic and freeing. But my optho said even a light hit could cause a retinal detachment in my eyes and blind me because they’re so weak, so I never got to pursue that dream.

I have high myopia and astigmatism too, so there’s an increased risk for me, although everything else is fine, so it’s less than you.

I wear a facebar headguard usually.

If you want, you could look into grappling stuff, like BJJ/ Judo/ Wrestling. Minimal hits to the head.
