What do you think about reparations?

Honestly, i thought about this subject for a while. I am against slavery 100%. I also recognize racism in capitalism, the economy, etc, but for some reason the idea of just giving out money does not sit right with me, at all.

I personally think and believe its factually irresponsible for this to be a good idea. First of all, i think they are so many better ways modern society could introduce reparations. Through credit score, through housing, food, loans for businesses, farmland, discounts, tax exemptions etc. Honestly, id even go as far as to say that a combination of those things are better than flat out giving away money! My proposal would have been a creation of a new system (restructured welfare system, with levels that could trickle down and also assist the working class, with obviously those who face implications of slavery being at the top levels of assistance).

because the problem with giving away money one-time, is that not everyone is qualified, or able to handle money and power. Its also an undeniable fact that the people today who dont get the dump of cash will somehow "pay" for the bill. Plus, the idea that slavery has existed for the majority of other races as well, not just exclusively black americans but also africans, indians, natives, etc, and "skin color discrimination" + modern slavery tactics makes the idea sound wonky. They are many of those who dont qualify, yet faced the same financial implications.

The idea that one should be rewarded based on the pretense that their ancestors "built" the country vs the idea that someone should be rewarded based on the content of their individuality is absurd to me. This same idea is actually the same problem and a reverse argument to the opposing party. The ones they claim need to pay out could easily use the same pretense and the cycle repeats. Yea, they are a lot of undercover racists who should pay for their wickedness, but i think the room of error is to great with this bill, and will implicit too many the wrong way.. Creating a "reparation" system with layers of privilege and safety nets to me is a way better proposal than just handing the kid a knife.

My points are pretty crude, but these are my highlights on why i think this idea is crazy imo. Im sure others can really dive deep into the whole political/economical implications. Honestly, i see this no good for the black community or for America. Its too irresponsible and "dumb". Youd think an advanced society would figure out a more intellectual solution than to just unfairly give gifts in this manner. Honestly kind of disappointed on society.

Its a never ending battle. I believe they are just as many wicked black people as they are white people. Same with racists. Honestly, i think all of humanity itself is wicked and not deserving of what we currently have.

Its a never ending idea because think back in the 1900s where these same compensations were occurring. Just like how we see it today. A poor black person in the united states 70% of the time has more opportunity and higher quality of living than a poor black person anywhere else in the world. Not saying that the slaves received their fill for being slaves. but what im highlighting is that it will always be an insatiability of reward as long as people keep categorizing their reward to what their ancestors did. It makes no sense. Its just an excuse as it creates a cycle where anyone can unrightly manipulate what they deserve based on history and not the present.

Theres a time and place where it may be okay to do such, but i think the topic issue has evolved too far and complex to just shut it down with a one end solution. Its sad because the civilians will just accept anything of carnal benefit without care or thought of future implication/consequences, as it always comes back to bite everyone in the ass harshly when wild emotional decisions are made like this. Id expect the people overseeing countries and cities to make more intelligent and creative decisions.
