What do you think about the before and after? Do you think it improved his appearance?

What's irritating about this change is the lighting difference. For example, someone who is good looking can fraud better in pictures than someone who is better looking but doesn't know how to take a photo.

This looks like he looked better before, but you need to take into consideration swelling and other factors. I think judging by the hair colour/skin colour, they've also taking this in different lighting and it looks a bit like he's now tilting his head to the side a bit rather than looking straight on. I think we will really need to wait about 3-6 months before you'll see if it was worth it.. although from the front it really doesn't look like he needed Bimax + Implants. I'm not sure if you're saying he had Bimax + Implant or if he had one or theo ther, but I do think he looked fine before. Square chin, good jaw angle etc.

I've just realised this is @anticel - so we can actually get his updates on his surgery.

I agree but the thing is have a lot of similarities to his face and I also wanted to go to him for Implants and Bimax. @anticel I thought they already posted your Bimax result hö???

Yeah I got to properly read his thread and I personally think his results are very impressive. Remember, swelling can last up to a year in some cases, so he isn't even close to how it's going to look in the end, and it already looks decent.

Is it just implants? Are you sure it’s bimax as well?
And that doesn’t look like 27mm of mandibular advancement, I’ve seen 10mm look like more advancement than that

that was 27mm BSSO with ccw Rotation maybe the Rotation you saw was straight that looks differvent. However in the side profile you can really see the difference

Damn makes me wonder if my 8-10mm will be enough

This guy who had an arguably worse before than anticel (guy in op)
MMp6las.jpg

got a great result with just 10mm bsso + genio that he didn't disclose. and he even now has a slight anteface.

I think as a rule of thumb, the bimax that usually produces the most good aesthetic outcomes is the one that takes you to an orthognathic profile (straight line from nasion to chin) or, very slightly beyond that, and with an occlusal plane of 4-1 degrees. Once you go beyond that, you are in real anteface territory, which becomes a gamble imo because of the way the result may or may not harmonize with your upper maxilla and upper third. when it does, it does look really good. the guy in op took the gamble and won imo, although fwiw he also got cheekbone implants.

It's really dependent on soft tissue too, if you have less submental fat it takes less mm of jaw+chin pulling it forward to make you look angular and appear like you've had a better result. similarly with less facial fat the chin will pull more on skin throughout the face and actually contribute somewhat to your zygos being more pronounced (or make more apparent you don't have any zygos)
