Is it the size of the actual jawbone, forward growth of the mandible, fat, masseter/muscle size?

To be more specific I mean in terms of the physical structure of the jaw. Not the hormones, etc that lead to that structure.

Androgens and testosterone aka go to the gym during puberty

I’m a retard

“Androgens are crucial for male sexual and reproductive function. They are also responsible for the development of secondary sexual characteristics in men, including facial and body hair growth and voice change. Androgens also affect bone and muscle development and metabolism.”

You don't want an overly wide jaw.

We discussed this in a Connor Murphy thread

The jaw should be square but not wider than the neck and just a little bit under the zygo width.

If the jaw is too wide it makes the face look bloated and makes the neck look thinner

What you are looking for is a square, angular well defined jaw.

When people have what looks like an overly narrow jaw usually it is just a symptom of a narrow face as a whole.

Sure. I'm just curious about the physical factors that cause the visual difference in how big jaws look

Probably the hyoid not being shit and having visible ramus with low set jaw angles. The actual width doesn't even matter as much as the jaw being forward grown and the face not storing tons of body fat.
