I'm not too sure, all I know is that my motivation is definitely not money.

Anytime I discuss something new with my dad (for example, the digital upload of a fruitfly's brain), his first thought is how you could monetise it. That's just not for me, I think my why is recognition and advancement. Power as well, but that's mutually inclusive with money.
