Just started thinking about this. My grandma got married at 17 to a 27 year old man. They lived in a small town. They’ve met and spent the rest of their lives together.
People normally didn’t look for partners outside their town, they just married someone who lived very close and was the opposite gender. Sometimes even their neighbour. They had no other options and it felt normal.
I also watched some movies from this era and women seemed to have much more respect for men, let’s say in the 50s and 60s than women do today. They also acted much more mature and weren’t so degenerate.
What ruined this? Is it the invention of the internet to be blamed for this?
Liberals giving “equal rights” to women, and this way “women gained more respect from men” as some article has stated?
