What should I say to convince the doctor of getting surgery?

Hello everyone.
I saw a doctor about my tmj problems and she sent me to a dentist, sge said that I might need surgery.
What could be best to say in order to get the surgery (if that's what I need of course) ?

idt tmj surgery has to do with aesthetics. there are botox for tmj but if its really fucked up the surgery is not looks related

Mayve, but recession itself produce tmj (or at least increases chances)
