Well technically it would as it creates a very large gap between your front teeth because it pulls the jaw in half almost meaning I would need new braces very expensive

If you got braces for fixing allignment or crowding you do know palate expanders do that 2. Braces are lowkey not necessary for alot of people they could just buy palate expanders instead. It's a medical monopoly. My advice if you really want a more wide jaw is get one or get surgery.
