Not recessed but narrow airways perhaps. Even when my nose is clear, I noticed that I can only breathe through one nostril.

Most people have that, it's called the nasal cycle.

Start running regularly, force yourself to breath through the nose, shut the mouth and improve the posture.
I used to be a chronic mouthbreather.
