In all seriousness, I don't know how I would cope.

I would likely do one of three things:

1. Acknowledge the dire situation, and somehow through either spirituality or self help find a way to cope on this earth being disfigured

2. Spend the rest of my life a miserable, rotting mess

All of you would cope because you have never been in that situation and felt what's it like when the survival instinct kicks in. It's much harder to rope than you think. Especially if you have a somewhat healthy brain. You will adapt and live a shitty life until you die.
