If psl is measurements then u cant tell it from one photo which means when someone asks his psl you will answer him based how appealing/attractive he is. So basically term psl is just how attractive he is so psl=appeal.
Sure appeal and psl can be different thing but how everyone views psl nowdays makes it same thing.
