I discovered somewhat recently that biryani is historically consumed in urban areas of Punjab, and not in rural areas. My family generally doesn’t cook it and at home I never had biryani. Like it’s not been a staple food where I’m from, though nowadays they do make biryani but uh, it’s like… mainly the ones living in the cities that do that. Talking about my relatives.

I have sensory issues with food, adhd also makes eating food exhausting, so I always prefer food that is simpler and requires minimal effort to eat. Biryani is like a minefield of different tastes.

Yeah, they usually say stuff like “Dravidians are connected to the Indus Valley Civilization” but that’s only valid if they carry the same paternal haplogroup as I do. Those Dravidians are basically my distant cousins.

That’s pretty funny. You should do a DNA test yourself, it’s not only common in Dravidians, but Sri Lankans have it too. I wonder what your haplogroup would be.
