I'm just trying to understand how it works. I know people have their buccal fat pads removed in order to get "hollow cheeks".
This is an illustration of the fat pads:
So if you remove the buccal fat pad (which appears to be the area necessary for hollow cheeks), will you have hollow cheeks even if you have high BF? I ask because I read posts where people remove the buccal fat pad they then say they have to lose BF for their cheeks.
So the other question is if you gain weight (and don't have buccal fat pads removed) does the buccal fat pad store fat and enlarge? Or is the fat stored in the other fat areas? The reason I ask is I thought I read that the buccal fat pads disappear by the time you are 25 years old or so. I'm well over that so I was just wondering if I even have a buccal fat pad to worry about. So if I don't have hollow cheeks, I have to lose fat from the other areas (not buccal), is that correct?
