Can someone tell me? I want to know what's ideal but also what's the minimum acceptable.
Also, how can a narrow palate influence the whole face? Can it cause smile lines or tear troughs? Or are those just from maxillary recession?

I have no idea about the exact millimeters' measurements, but ideally, your palate should be wide enough to show ten teeth of the upper jaw when smiling. Just test it; mine is like 6 or 8, which is okay. I think that usually, if you have a narrow palate, it also means that you are recessed due to poor bone development and that you may also have less prominent or lower-set cheekbones. I heard that the teeth are important to shape the jaw by the force they naturally apply to the bones, but I'm not sure. Just consult with an orthodontist. I read here that Henry Cavill has a Narrow palate, but it doesn't seem like it. Anyway, he's doing fine.
