Whats worse?

A long nose with a wide nasal bridge or a long nose with a narrow nasal bridge. A wide nasal bridge will make a long nose appear shorter however it will take away sharpness from the nose and make it look more like a potato. A narrow nasal bridge on a long nose will allow for a sharper nose with more nasal bridge definition, however will make the nose seem very long, making the whole midface look longer.

To be honest I'd choose the wider nose because as you said it can balance out ratios and narrow noses sorta look gross and sickly (especially on longer faces), only bringing more attention to other potential failos. Big noses aren't that bad as long as it isn't humped and caving downwards (and obviously not deformed)

I also imagine it'd be easier to shape a wide nose than it would be to work from a small one to turn it into something more desired

Yeah thats a good point, narrow noses do look kinda sickly. I will say though that a wide nasal bridge makes the face look a lot narrower overall. So really the question would be, Is it worth it to narrow a wide nasal bridge in order to 1. make the face seem wider 2. have the nose not be an eyesore, at the cost of making your face seem overall longer?
