When I take selfies my ears are barely visible, but in the mirror at the same distance I can see them clearly.

I've noticed this. Is it common, does anybody else experience this? I feel like my face looks worse there. Yet if I take a photo from a distance of around two arms, then my ears become more visible and the image resembles more like I see myself in the mirror.

It's weird because most people take selfies and they look good, like their faces remain distortion free.

I have exactly the same problem. Ears look normal in selfies but stick out in pics from further away. I'm going to get an otoplasty hopefully soon.

Actually what you've described is the opposite. That you look better in selfies because ears look normal, but if the camera is farther away they look too big.
