This. Every week or two I have a cathartic crying session. While listening to beautiful or sad music , drinking, and getting nostalgic. Feels good to let it all out.

I forgot how often women cry. I cant remember the last time i cried since it was so long ago (i think 2 years ago, not to sound hard, crying can be a good thing apparently). Before puberty i used to cry very often, these days i cant cry even if i try to force myself+i dont have any major events to be sad about. A few times in the last 2 years ive had the urge to cry but i would always stop myself cos i felt gay. I realised at around 15-16 years old that men who cry are seen as weak in society, you wont be offered any sympathy so why even bother? After realising this, i stopped crying completely i dont think ill ever let myself be seen crying by another person for as long as i live, i dont want to be viewed as a weak cuck by society.

I remember it used to feel good to cry tho, Apparently it releases dopamine or something?

For me, I wouldn't cry in front of someone who is either emotionally weaker than or emotionally dependent on me. I can't shatter the confidence someone has in me emotionally. I have to be the pillar of stability, as I am the man in all my relationships. With single exception every relationship I have is lopsided towards me being the emotional pillar. In crying or showing any other strong form of emotion, I lose stability in the eyes of the people who depend on me emotionally, family especially.

Brutal shit, but as a man you really cannot cry in front of anybody.

Your tears don't serve a purpose, and as a man you must always have purpose with everything you do.

I have never been caught crying in front of anybody, even as a child. I wish I could afford to.

Im suprised with the responses. I thought most guys would be trying to play tough but its nice to know most guys cry alone. Now i feel less pressure to never cry

IDK, when I do it doesn't feel good, the gums feel weird, like pins and needles in the face. I also feel pathetic afterwards.

Last proper cry was when I had a mental breakdown 4 or so years ago, sometimes more recently I tear up / eyes water briefly when thinking about the past, my future, and how pathetic and useless it all seems, but not actually crying.

crying is weak and when you cry you show weakness.

but its ok to be weak alone. its ok to embrace it and work through. just don't cry around others.

bottling it up is bad, I did that mistake before and the outcome just ends up being self destructive on top of destroying people around you.
