It really depends on what you want. Since you're a white European moving to a really big city might be a culture shock. Pennsylvania, Ohio, or even Michigan can be good places to go. Michigan is very nice as long as you stay out of Detroit. NYC is expensive but there's so much wealth here & jobs pay well.

San Francisco is a good place. Portland too. New Orleans East, Lower Ninth Ward, lots of culture there.

Honestly avoid New York or California unless you are rich. I suggest Florida, tenessee, California can be an option if you want to live in Mexico while commuting and working San Diego not a bad option I have friends doing it
