it looks different on everyone and knowing the exact number is meaningless because all that matters is how it looks in the mirror.

get some calipers if you really want to know, they're cheap anyway.

Look at your abs and obliques in the mirror.
If they are not clearly visible even in poor lighting you are too high body fat for optimal aesthetics and it will show up on your face too.

Dexa scans, scale numbers, calipers etc. are meaningless except for very obese individuals who need them as a tracking tool.

My vascularity is shit because I literally have too little blood
the only people that think having dickskin looks good are homosexual men.

vascularity is disgusting.

Well the most accurate would be a dexa scan. Unless you are an athlete or are super serious about this I don't think you need one.

Just go by the mirror/how you feel. Different levels of body fat look different on different people anyways.

Dexa is good for knowing how close to ideal leanness you are on an absolute scale. Arguably more valuable to analyze facial leanness, but ultimately just keep cutting if you don’t like how you look

Visible while flexing or at rest?

At rest. I had visible abs flexed at ~17% (also quite vascular and visible muscle insertions all over)
and was still fat as fuck with tons of extra fat in the face.

It takes so much work to be lean at rest it's unbelievable. Worth every month of negative calorie pain though.
Aesthetics start at ~12% body fat.

DEXA scan is the most accurate measurement although not perfect and they cost money.
