In World War I, white feathers were symbols of cowardice handed to men not in military uniform. Initiated by Admiral Charles Penrose-Fitzgerald in Britain in 1914, the White Feather Campaign encouraged women to shame able-bodied men into enlisting
Groups of young women would approach healthy-looking men in civilian clothes, berate them, and hand them a white feather in public to mark them as cowards

Imagine you're minding your own business and some bitch shames you for not risking your life in shitty trench warfare while she sits at home and does nothing, I would decapitate her with my bare hands (In real life this time)

The modern version of this is foids complaining that some men are posting photo dumps instead of going to fight in a war.
