Not buzz cut. If you don't want to do too long, I get it. But very few people look good with it that short, and even those that look good will look better with it longer.

Mid to long hair usually has the best look on the largest range of people IMO.
It's hard to tell what would look better as good looking people still look good / can pull off both, depending on face shape.
Just to err on the side of caution I'd choose mid-length hair (slightly shorter than your long hair example, but longer than your short hair example).
