90% of collagen product takers use it through collagen cream
9.999% of collagen product takers use it through supplements
0.001% of collagen product takers use it through injections
Time to discuss them
Collagen Cream - 100% cope:
To penetrate a skin a molecule has to have a molecular weight of 500 daltons or less (search up 500 daltons on google for more info on this, it's a good rule to know if a topically applied product is cope)
The molecular weight of Natural collagen is around 300,000 DALTONS
Higher quality synthetic collagen can reach 2,000-5,000 daltons,
though this is still too big

"Actually bhaiya my collagen cream claims 300-500 daltons which is enough to penetrate the skin"
Fucking think. Do you really think the weight of normal natural human collagen of 300,000 daltons can be made to be 1,000 times less? The collagen they are using is FISH COLLAGEN
"saaar theres studies showing fish collagen increases skin, blood and hair health"
These "studies" are on WOUNDS, not on skincare. Though skincare companies love using them to make unsuspecting post menopause ladies to buy their creams

The reason your so called collagen cream seems to have an effect is because skin care companies smartly put actual skin care chemicals in that cream which actually helps your skin, but the collagen inside that cream is doing none of the leg work.
They CAN advertise it as collagen cream since it IS cream and it DOES have collagen
They CAN advertise it as anti aging cream because of the other chemicals inside of it.
By the time anyone bothers to do anything about it they've already made their money from old ladies.
Nobody is class action lawsuiting them unless the cream makes their fucking skin fall off
Most the company will do it just refund them or send them a replacement or give them cash to spend on their other products.

Collagen Supplements - 85% cope:

The logic behind collagen supplements is the same as vitamins. "Okay, if I take 4,000 iu of vitamin d3 a day, my body will have 4,000 more iu of vitamin d3 a day than it does now! So it must be the same for collagen!!
No smosh

In actuality you aren't taking collagen when you take collagen supplements (unless, ofcourse, you are taking fish collagen supplements) the same way you take vitamin d3 when you take vitamin d3 supplements.

If the vitamin d3 supplement is legit and not oil in a capsule from china, when you take that vitd3 sup, you are LITERALLY ingesting vitamin d3 molecules and your body is absorbing it.
This is not the case for collagen supplements. If you took middle school biology you'd know proteins are made up of amino acids in the body, and if you know anything about collagen - it's a protein, specifically made up of the amino acids glycine, proline and hydroxyproline.
THIS is what's in collagen supplements. If you don't get what I mean. This is like instead of drinking water you put oxygen and hydrogen (since water is made up of oxygen and hydrogen for you retards out there) in a capsule and hoping your body makes water by combining the oxygen and hydrogen.

Now ofcourse, the body doesn't have a natural process for creating water in the body but it DOES have a natural process of making collagen in the body.
So whilst it DOES increase collagen by giving your body the special ingredients collagen is made of and hoping it makes it, it's limited to how much collagen your body actually cares to make. What if you are currently minorly deficient in a protein that glycine is required to make? What if your body puts that hydroxyproline towards making HIF-1α instead of collagen because it wants to restore oxygen homeostasis by inducing glycolysis, erythropoiesis and angiogenesis?
What if your genetics just say fuck you and your body just naturally makes essentially no collagen from the ingredients it's given?
So when you take 4,000 iu vitamin d3, you ARE getting 4,000 ui vitamin d3 going into your body and being used.
But when you take a 400mg collagen supplement, your body COULD make 400mg of collagen with it :D, or it could make 0.00027941mg of collagen witih it D: and usually it's closer to the latter.
Now ofcourse, this is not to say it's completely cope, that's why it's 85%. There is proof that taking collagen supplements increases the amount of collagen in the blood. So it does go systemic to some degree. But alot of it is fake advertising fluff.

Again, to repeat, when you take a 400mg collagen supplement, your body could use it to make 400mg of actual collagen, or it could just use the amino acids in the supplement to focus on completely different processes, and that's only if the supplement even is made of the hydrolysates of collagen (amino acids), and the manufacterer didn't retardedly just put the entire collagen molecule into it (you might aswell chug rat piss for collagen if this is the case)

I don't know enough about fish collagen to deboonk it, but this is only because there is basically no studies on it on anti aging, so this already puts it in the COPE category.

Collagen Injections - 0% cope:

Not much to say on this. You are literally getting a solution that contains collagen proteins and injecting it into your skin. This is basically what collagen cream claims to do and what collagen supplements claims your body does with it. This is the best way to take collagen by far.
And ofcourse the results are fucking insane:

Ofcourse they are other LEGIT ways of increasing collagen like microneedling and Platelet Rich Treatment (PRP)
The difference between PRP and collagen injections ofcourse is PRP increases the body's natural production of collagen (better if you're younger. I'd get it when 21) And collagen injections straight up gives your facial skin collagen. No middleman. (better when you're older when your body's production is basically nuked anyways)

This means that..
PRP is best for young people, for older it's basically cope

Hmm. I wonder what one of the main ingredients in moisturiser might typically be?

Also 400mg oral collagen is absolute cope. You need to mega dose this, I take 10g and I may still increase it further. If you think about the sheer quantity of collagen the body needs to maintain, it makes sense. You wouldn’t take a 400mg whey capsule and expect to grow muscles.

Hmm. I wonder what one of the main ingredients in moisturiser might typically be?
This is not really applicable since most moisturizers have hyaluronic acid concentration at 0.1 - 2.0% when hyaluronic solutions (solutions marketed for the hyaluronic acid content and the hyaluronic acid content only) typically have 2.5%
the 2% hyaluronic acid concentration moisturizers typically only have that much so they can put "2% Hyaluronic Acid" on the side, if your moisturizer doesn't show the %, it probably has closer to 0.1% just so it can put hyaluronic acid in the ingredient list and to maybe slightly outperform other moisturizers in the market that don't have it/to not get outperformed by other moisturizers in the market that do.

This is not even the main point.. Not all hyaluronic acid is made equal.
If you've done an ounce of research into hyaluronic acid (I'm sure you have, just putting this here to educate any others who might happen to read this response) you'd know about Macro Hyaluronic Acid, (which is 1,000,000 daltons and can only breach the uppermost layers of the epidermis) Micro Hyaluronic Acid (which ranges from 50,000-300,000 daltons, and can penetrate deeper into the epidermis) and Micro-Epidermic Hyaluronic Acid (Which ranged from 5,000-50,000 daltons and can reach the deepest layers of the epidermis. Some claim it just about reaches derman-penetration though this is not confirmed and only debated).
Any hyaluronic acid solution that's worth more than the bottle it's kept in has all 3 of these types of hyaluronic acid so the hyaluronic acid is in all layers of the epidermis. And unfortunately some brands just don't give a fuck to since 99.995% of normies don't know anything about this and aren't looking for hyaluronic acid that specifically has all 3. I know L'Oreal and Ordinary do but 90% of brands don't.
Especially in moisturizer, when you move from actual hyaluronic solution to moisturizer that just contains hyaluronic acid, the chance it doesn't have all 3 go from 90% to 99%. If you care at all about hyaluronic acid I would advise buying seperate solution
