Iran is a liberal country. But they have their religious folk for sure. After all it the heart of Twelver Shiism.

Both these crowds want to claim the religioisty / secularity of society. But the reality is it's a mixed depending on where you go.

Suburbs in Tehran = non-hijabi westernised girls. People probably drink too and very liberal in religion.

Neighbourhoods in Qom = Women in hijabs. Men with beards. They'll slap the shit out of you if you dress like a whore.
