Why are teenagers getting so tall?

As a incoming freshman who’s 5,7 I feel like high school is going to be hell, in 8th grade I already started noticing people who I used to be taller then start catching up, and people who were the same height as me towering over me, now with my growth plates closing, I’ll be below average height for the rest of my life, in high school it’s just going to get even worse, I’ll enter the school and immediately be flooded seeing guys taller then me, and the worst part is that I will never exceed them in height, tomorrow is my orientation, people will see I haven’t grown at all and I look worse, girls will probably go on a rampage dating tall upperclassmen, it’s over
