As far as I know higher intelligence on itself is a cold adapted trait, since the colder the environment the more it’s inhabitants had to cooperate with each other to survive the winter (think of African vs Southern European vs Scandinavian iq)

Following this logic too much intelligence is counterproductive achieving in group cooperation since very high iq people are neurodivergent in one way or other in almost all cases
