Maybe it’s just me but I was taught never to let a guest pay when you’re the one throwing the party. It’s a gentlemanly thing to do.

If you’ve invited someone, they’re your guest and you should make them feel welcome rather than expect them to contribute to the bill. This is how professional connectionsz network and corporate relationships that help you get a job, bail you out of difficult situations are built. That is more important than than few hundred dollars you might save but you also should have boundaries and not become an atm machine. human relations are not transactions and it's a delicate balancing act.

Despite having ton of money and being childless, niggas think they need to break friendships over savin a total of 50 more bucks in a year that they will spend in less than 1 hour rentin a scooter in Bali

It’s cultural to be cheap in the Netherlands, foids often complain about 50/50 and when you go out with friends the bill is split at the restaurant.
