Tons of guys at my highschool would claim to have gifted to genius IQ's and I don't know why they think that would make people respect them more. If you have a gifted IQ and don't do anything with it then nobody is gonna view you as intelligent.
Most of these kids made bad points in discussions, were not funny, were bad at reasoning, and were conformists who liked to pass off good ideas that were not theirs as their own. I have an average IQ, and when I would mention it kids would be like "really?" as if it means I am going to live a challenging life. I do well in social scenarios, I do well in college, I am usually at the head of discussions, and I am funny depending on your definition of funny. Yet I own the fact that my IQ is within the average range.
People act as if you can't learn skills. My writing in school is top-notch at the uni-level now, even though my grammar is still weak and I place no emphasis on vocabulary since vocab is bull shit. I scored the highest out of my entire honors English class on every essay but one my freshman year of college. I used to be a terrible writer, but now I read other kids writing, the same kids who claim to be gifted, and I cringe at how simple and incoherent the ideas are.
I had to get my IQ tested triannually throughout my youth, so I know my actual verified IQ. My processing speed is in the bottom 10th percentile (78). I do well in school while only being slightly above average in all other aspects. I also scored 99th percentile on the SAT. I gave a very honest effort on all my IQ tests and was always shocked at how poorly I tested.
My cunt school psychologist told me that if I didn't use accommodations in college she couldn't see me making it through freshman year. "You are very similar to other students I have evaluated, and most of them did not succeed in college, and those who did relied on extra help". Same bitch who started off with "Your IQ won't determine your ability to succeed" immediately contradicting her opinion because she has complete faith in the modern IQ test.
I would post the summary of my results if I took them with me to college and the sentences didn't all start with "(my name) tested xy on the xy subset of the xy test for the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Quotient test. This suggests (my name) is within the average range for children his age for xy".
