Stuff like a pec tear or a shoulder injury is an actual serious injury where you could be out of training for months. When you lift you're just causing microscopic tears in your muscles and damaging the tissue... BUT! Your body recovers very quickly on a proper diet with enough proteins. And if you're not doing too much volume and allowing each muscle to rest.
