It could be for literally anything, but if you are not very familiar with them or are ND it could most likely be to test your limits and see if you will stand up for yourself or just take all the hate like pussy. So set some boundaries and stand up for yourself and don't be afraid to get physical if needed or at least thats what i would do.

Then just dont respond to them make them feel like you dont care even if you actually care or call them out for the unnecessarry hate so that they will look like tryhardcucks that are obsessed with you. But unless you are willing to go physical nothing is guarenteed to be a solution.
