Why do I look decent in some photos than utter shit in others

the images didnt load for me but its for a few main reasons: lighting - the right lighting can enhance your best features and hide your worst ones while bad lighting can do the opposite. camera - the camera quality and the processing effects some phones can make you look a little worse than you do for example on my phone I look alot paler and weirdly colored than I do irl, also using the front camera(selfie camera) on my phone severely distorts my face making my nose huge and my proportions fucked. and the final reason is that its a photo, a still image taken instead of a video, this is the reason I take atleast 3 photos when taking a photo of someone as its very likely they will blink or have a weird facial expression etc, thats why you will always look better in a video. youre welcome
