Why do people do this to me?

A few examples:

Was at work talking with two colleagues and I get one of their names wrong whilst speakin with them (e.g. Harry instead of Larry) and Larry just looks away from me and looks at the other guy and laughs and doesn't say anything until I say somethn like "oh is that not your name" and he says no and nothing else and I have to put all the effort in and be like "well what's your name then" otherwise this nigga just gonna keep looking away from me and not speak to me

Another time in high school I was with two other people and I'm askin dis kid if he knows if he's in any of my lessons or somethn and the guy just looks away and ignores me and even the other guy who was closer friends with him was like "wtf why aren't you answering"

One time in high school I was with a friend (a chad) and two gyals and we b talkin and I ask the gyals a question and then look at eachother and don't say anything and then the chad friend follows up with what I said and then they respond. And the entire time the girls made zero eye contact with me and were only talking with da other guy.


I'm perfectly fine with having conversations 1 on 1 and they b nice and we laugh n dat but when it's more than 1 person I get treated even uglier than the way I look.

But it's so weird when they do the thing where they literally just don't answer me and look away.

This is petty kid sh*t. I remember people doing it in high school. Peers will stop doing that when they're in their early 20's. And younger kids won't do it to you when you're older. People seem to grow out of that type of crap, but they become rude in other ways.

They actually are tho. I was literally thinking about this today after working with them.

I was thinking about how I feel bad about how they're all joking and laughing together and how I'm missing out yet what they're laughing about genuinely isn't funny and I shouldn't feel bad cuz I'm not missing out on anything. And that's not me just being a negative Nigel. The jokes they're making are genuinely not funny whatsoever it's like bricklayer iq humour.

I dont mean to say that because I think I'm better than these people, we're just different from eachother. But I am better than them as well.

I feel like every type of person works different types of jobs and people who work in retail are just childish simpletons with no personality and I need to work somewhere else where I actually fit in. Like imagine a short skinny gay man whos into art and fashion working with a bunch of nutty geezas on a building site, thats how I feel working in retail. I don't fit in with these people we just ain't the same kinda people.

Not sure where else I could work tho. What's a good minimum wage job minimum requirement job like retail where it's more peaceful and quiet and the people working there are less frantic and insecure and are actually interesting?

Try doing a seasonal gig. Fruit picking would be a good experience.

You know what. Believe it or not working a job with fewer whites is always good. Find a job where most of your co workers are immigrants. Most of them will have interesting things to talk about. Their small talk will be more robust as well.
