Why do people living in the North always look down on people living in the South?

Koreans and Japanese look down on Southeast Asians, Northern Europeans look down on Southern Europeans, Americans look down on Mexicans, Moroccans look down on Nigerians, Why does this phenomenon occur?

I think it's a rich vs. poor thing and that's relative. Southern Europeans used to look down on Northern Europeans.

not always true. in the uk the southerners look down on the northerners. same in brazil and nigeria

history, geography, skin colour, even climate and wind patterns can determine this
