Why do people say you shouldn’t buy used gpus?

Even if the gpu was used for mining 24/7, as long as the gpu was well kept the life span of the gpu would have been barely affected.
And there is no such thing as the performance of it dropping with time with these types of components.
And even if you don't believe that there is the LHR option which basically prohibit mining.

So other than that rumor being spread by the gpu manufacturers because selling gpus from official distributors is the only way they make money, why do people say that you shouldn't buy a used gpu or that it is a scam?

Probably because if youre buying a used gpu its likely already an outdated model and wont be future proof

Can't imagine not being able to afford a new outdated gpu jfl poor people am I rite?
Nah I was planning on buying a 3080 or something on that range and the differences of prices of old vs new on that range are abysmal.
