Of course barring extreme unluckiness and horrible spawning conditions or health complications that result from more natural rather than preventable causes. And in many cases if your parents passed that shit onto you of no fault of your own, they had their own skill issues, like getting knocked up and not finishing school. Especially when the economy wasn't nearly as competitive as it is now
If you can't make 70% of the median wage in your city, and save and spend responsibilble you deserve to be poor because you're not good.
The USA is beautiful because it rewards the intelligent, the strong and healthy, the diligent, the hard working, the ambitious the people who don't argue for their own limitations.
