Theres a lot of reasons why, here are some of them:

1. If you are a westerner, left wing societies soften people's perception of reality through biased news that doesn't show the whole picture. This in turn makes people of that country in general overly sensitive to graphic content. Namely violence.
2. Humans need for survival makes us overly fearful of violence due to the fear of death.
3. Feminist societies are harsher on violence.
